Bsixtwelve Wines at Lone Farm Vineyard: 10 years of Crafting Exceptional Wines with a Sustainable Heart

It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we planted our Vineyard, nestled amidst the rolling hills of Hampshire. Bsixtwelve Wines at Lone Farm Vineyard stands as a testament to hard work, perseverance and consistency to focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation in English winemaking. As most of you know, in  2014, when I planted the (micro) vineyard, I decided to focus exclusively on crafting exceptional still wines made solely with 100% Pinot Blanc grapes and that resonated with the unique character of the Hampshire terroir. Needless to say, I had no idea what the universe had in store for me and how much humble pie I was going to eat.

Rooted in Sustainability: Organic, Biodynamic, and Regenerative Practices

Almost from the very beginning, we have embraced a holistic approach to viticulture. I am a firm believer that the wine is made in the Vineyard and it is the responsibility of the winemaker to respect and preserve that quality. We are committed to organic and biodynamic principles, nurturing the  vines (my girls) without the use of synthetic chemicals or fertilisers. This dedication extends to regenerative agriculture practices, fostering a healthy ecosystem that benefits both the vines and the wider environment. This approach focuses on restoring and improving the health of the soil, leading to increased biodiversity, water retention, and carbon sequestration. By implementing cover crops, composting, use of sheep and no-till farming practices, the vineyard actively contributes to a more sustainable future for the land. Additionally our electricity is mainly supplied by our solar panels that provide up to 15 Kw of power.

Unveiling Hampshire Terroir

So far Bsixtwelve's wine portfolio showcases passion for exploring the potential of English Pinot Blanc grapes. Our flagship Pinot Blanc Classic, first released in 2017, quickly garnered recognition for its elegance and complexity.

It is probably evident by now that even with a good measure of great caution, we are not afraid to experiment. We are among the first English wineries to produce Orange wines (BWILD), a unique style made from white grapes with extended skin contact and embraced the Ancestral method of producing sparkling wine (LOLA’S TIPPLE), after eating a good portion of humble pie. This spirit of experimentation reflects our desire to push the boundaries of English winemaking while remaining true to our commitment to quality and the expression of the Hampshire terroir.

Watch the space for special events and experiences that we are organising during this year to celebrate together. We believe in fostering a sense of connection between people, the land and the wines creating a welcoming space for people to come together, because after all, wine is about the people as much as it is about the grapes.

A Bright Future: Continued Growth and Excellence

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we look ahead with a commitment to continuous improvement. With exciting releases planned and a strong dedication to sustainability and experimentation, Bsixtwelve is poised to continue its journey as a  producer of exceptional English still wines, crafted with respect for the land and a passion for sharing our unique story.
